Classroom UPDATE in pictures

I started with a big mess- made the mess bigger and now I'm finally starting to gain more control of my new room. It's been a long week ya'll so if ya don't mind, I'm gonna sit back and relax while you show yourselves around. Here's my week in pictures...
DAY #1

DAY #2
{not pictured} It was an overwhelming day...

DAY #3

DAY #4

DAY #5

It's still a work in progress. Next week is pre-planning so I'll be able to put in a few more hours before Meet Your Teacher.

Here are a few little fun projects I was able to finish today:
Our student work display using left over scrapbook paper-
this makes me happy just looking at it...although I know it needs a title, I still haven't found letters I like {ugh}
Plus, those darn lights are in the way and they're not leaving me inspired.at.all.

Here's a before and after project for my classroom library:
BEFORE
 AFTER
The red cushion is just a slipcover over the chair frame so I pulled it off, stapled my new fabric right to the back of the cover and slipped it on! Yeah, I guess you could call that cheating since I didn't sew- but no one will ever know ;)

Here's a closer picture of my new owl themed word wall...
If you can't tell, my theme this year is lime, chocolate and teal..with polka dots and owls sprinkled in.
 It makes me happy.

You can get your own copy of my word wall {complete with almost 300 fry words} here or if you want my whole owl classroom theme packet, you can grab it here!

If owls aren't your thing, I have frogs, stars and nautical themes also available in my TpT shop.
Which, by the way, will be on sale soon! Don't miss it!!

I have a date with my PJs, our couch and the DVR'd Olympics!
Yes, that's a word. Who cares about spell check anyway?

TGIF friends!!!
