I know, I know...it's been a while. I took an extended blogging break to enjoy the holidays, quality time with my sweet lil family, and an amazing vacation to Puerto Rico. Can you blame me? This girl needed some downtime, somethin' serious ya'll.

It felt good to get away and now I'm back in full swing! Lucky you. ;p
Last night I made a quick stop by Target on my way home from more shopping.
Okay, I'll be honest...I told myself it would be a quick stop.
Okay, I'll be honest...I told myself it would be a quick stop.
I needed to make a couple returns.
That was it.
In and out.
HA! Who am I kidding?!?
First of all, it wasn't my fault.
If it wasn't for that darn Dollar Spot, I swear I would have made it out of there without buying anything. That's the story I'm sticking with anyway.
When I got home, I justified my "quick peek" with one super awesome find!
Check out these cuties?!?
So I know it's hard to tell from these pictures but I just love that they are super-sized{Two dice take up half my palm}...and they have hearts for V-day!!
Sure, I have 3 baggies full of regular dice in my classroom.
Let's ignore that fact, shall we.
These are not your normal dice, people...these BIG boys are ADORABLE.
Plus, it's the only super-sized thing I've bought since the new year. I told myself that this purchase would curb my cravings for McDonalds. Hey, whatever works, right?!? Sadly, it didn't have the same effect as a ....warm...salty.... french fry...*sigh

Focus.
Okay. So...
I'm planning to use these dice to help reinforce our classroom's math fact fluency.
Here's how you play:
1. Students work in groups of 3. {1 "die roller" and 2 "speedy math masters"}
2. The die roller rolls a pair of dice for the other 2 players.
3. The two players will quickly add the sum of the two dice and call out the answer
{or write on white boards, if you prefer a calmer and quieter classroom}
4. The die roller is also the speed judge.
They have the all mighty power to determine the winner of each round.
5. The fastest player will become the die roller for the next round and the game will continue in that order until you they've had enough fun...or until you've had enough
6. In the event of a tie
If you feel inspired to create recording sheets or additional goodies, I created these little .png graphics to match my dollar spot find! Click the picture to download.
They're free until February 1st! Leave me some "love" if you like them :)
Happy Sunday friends!
Love those dice!
